I thought it was good. Rarity's emotional attachment for Spike was really nice and noted. Like some had mentioned reading up on what they didn't liked about it, it would've been nice if Spike would've went to an elder dragon for help/advice instead of teenagers, or have some type of dragon/pony backstory if there is any...but I digress, overanalysis of a little girl's show.

meh. I don't mind some analysis. I kind of wish I could write on this show sometimes, though to be fair, some of the really cool concepts might be out of the realm of the demographic Hasbro's going for.

I would love to see him interact with an older mentor-like dragon. Maybe one who's chosen a similar life to Spike's rather than the typical hoarding/rampaging kind. I remember when I was boarding on Secret of My Excess, I added the little bit of him on the bridge putting his hand in the image of the giant footprint he'd left as an adult. It seems like he's almost pre-determined to become something other than he really wants to be.

Great episode but I'm sad that they didn't follow up on what Celestia said in the letter to Spike that the dragons threw in the lava.

Knowing Celestia and the dragon migration was there it was probably something like

Dear Spike,

With the recent arrival of the dragon migration to Equestrian skies I imagine you
must be brimming with questions about yourself and your race. I know you don't know
much about dragons but I have kept a private store of knowledge in my personal study
that I would be happy to share with you. If you have any questions about dragons,
their ceremonies, culture or anything about them at all just visit me here in Canterlot
and I will be happy to answer all of your questions about your race, origins and who are.

-Her grand royal highness
Princess Celestia

Thus making his quest superfluous.

Are you allowed to say yet who storyboarded Hurricane Fluttershy? The Hub aired a preview this morning: [link] [link]

I *think* that would still be fine since I'm about to make a post on it anyway. XD Its just unsafe to talk about actual content before things air. After some of the leaks from TopDraw, there is a much more scrutinous eye on us all.

As for Hurricane, that would be ME! And my trusty cohort Dave Weibe. I think I can say that its the first pony board that I found my 'comfort zone' in, so there is some fun stuff in it. Is that vague enough? I hope...

I can't understand why information on who storyboarded an episode needs to be so "hush-hush" before the episodes air. It's not like knowing that information spoils the episode! Right? I honestly see no problem with knowing the storyboarders (and writers, for that matter) of future episodes. (Voice actors, on the other hand, should remain secret until after the episode airs - for not knowing which characters are in an episode.)

By the way, who voiced the teenage dragons? My guesses are Terry Klassen, Samuel Vincent, Scott McNeil, Matt Hill, or a combination of those guys.

Lastly, thank you for providing this kind of information, and for answering my question! :D

Not sure who voiced the dragons. A few people have asked, so if I remember I'll check with Jayson. I DID hear Matt Hill in there. Ha.

And the board thing? Augh. I'm confused by it every day. I think after all the actual leaks from TopDraw (NOT DHX) Hasbro has had a more watchful eye on things. I think. Don't quote me.

If you can confirm any of the dragon voices, or heck - any of the other background voices from Hurricane Fluttershy, that would be awesome! (And while I'm at it, I have to ask: Is Tabitha St. Germain the voice of Princess Cadence, as heard in this officially-released preview? (She says "What!?") [link] )
